PHI GOM S92 FUEL SYSTEM EP Flashcards
ENG 1 FUEL PRES
Erratic fuel flow
Fluctuating Ng, TGT, Q
Fly….Although not required, it’s good idea to adjust to OEI profile, Land as soon as PRACTICAL
ID- LOW ENGINE FUEL PRESSURE on #1 engine
Throttle-na
Checklist- TAB 7
Two causes:
Engine driven fuel pump- No way to fix this failure
Fuel line failure- May be able to bypass broken fuel line using XFD
If light remains on expect engine failure in 7 to 10 seconds.
Draw the fuel system
.
FUEL 1 BYPASS (Single BYPASS)
Fly....Land as soon as PRACTICAL ID- FUEL FILTER BYPASS Throttle-na Checklist- TAB 7 For Dual Bypass Land as soon as POSSIBLE
FUEL 1 and 2 BYPASS
FLY…Land as soon as POSSIBLE
ID- FUEL FILTER BYPASS
Throttle-na
Checklist-TAB 7
Single bypass Land as soon as PRACTICAL
FUEL 1 LOW
EICAS Fuel level page yellow
Main fuel quantity 215 +_ 45 (about :20 @600 pph per engine)
FLY….avoid steady state attitude of 10 up and 5 down.
ID- FUEL LOW
Throttle-na
Checklist- TAB 7
Land as soon as practical with one Fuel low. No EP for both Fuel Lows on so its probably a good idea to land as soon as possible with both. One flame out is bad doing an auto because you ran out of fuel……..
PRIME PUMP FAIL
FLY…continue flight and correct prior to next flight
ID-PRIME PUMP FAIL
Throttle-na
Checklist- TAB 7
Note: The prime pump will only operate during engine start and whenever the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is operating.
During XFD starts may see this while starting the second engine since the engine driven pump is overriding the prime pump. Normal if it goes out after the start is complete.
SOV 1 WRNG POSN
Possible slow starting engine
FLY…Continue flight and correct prior to next flight
ID- PRIME SHUTOFF VALVE
Throttle-na
Checklist- TAB 9
If the valve fails in the closed position then the engine may start slower than normal (RFM says to correct before next flight but PHI checklist does not)
