Steep turns
- Note torque for speed of steep turn
- Heading bug on start point
- Use left trim to 30 AOB (just go until it hits the limit
- Add 10% to torque (57 go to 67)
- Adjust pitch to maintain speed
- Check VSI and adjust torque
ILS missed approach switching back to FMS
On final set heading to missed approach heading and ALTPRE to missed approach holding altitude.
At DA: GO AROUND on cyclic ALTPRE and HDG on Mode select panel LNAV on the DCP Confirm FMS has advanced to missed approach Select Cruise on MSP NAV on MSP

TTTTT Turn-to new course Time- Start the clock for Non Precision Transition- reduce to approach speed (90/70), Landing gear/Before ldg ck Twist- New course on HSI Talk- FAF, Entering holding ETC.

FMS Airway steps
Select FP page Add departure and first point on airway Select next open slot Select list Select the airway and end point....done (works to intercept an airway also. You will need to select FROM and TO waypoint on the NAV page
Transition from FMS to ILS or VOR full procedure
Tune and setup the land based NAVAIDs
Load the ILS or VOR procedure in the FMS
Couple to the LNAV
preview ILS/VOR and ARM after PT inbound
Transition from FMS to ILS or VOR on RADAR vectors
Tune and setup the land based NAVAIDs Load the ILS/VOR procedure in the FMS Couple to the LNAV preview ILS/VOR final On FMS Activate approach use CMD HDG for vectors select INTERCEPT after last vector Arm LOC and glide slope
For the VOR you may remain coupled to the FMS so don’t need to ARM it.
Switch from NAV to LNAV
center HDG bug select HDG as an Intermediate NAV source select LNAV on the DCP select Cruise on MSP select NAV on MSP
What’s an easy way to tell if an approach or Holding pattern is active
the procedure will be in Blue at the top of the FMS ie. “HOLD ARMED”
