A

altered concious, maximal WOB, tachy, unable to talk

what is the treatement for mild or moderate ashtma?

A

salbutamol pMDI
2-5 years 2-6 doses
6 and over 4-12 doses

4 breaths for each dose and repated at 20 min intervals

what is the treatment for sevre asthma?

A

2-4 years
salbutaml 2.5mg (1.25ml)

6 - 11 years m2.5-5mg salbutamol nebulsed (1.25-2.5 ml)
and ipatropium bromide 250mcg 1ml nebulaised

repeat nebulised salbutamol at 20 mins as requireed

all children
salbutamol 10mg - 5ml
nebulaised - repat at 5 mins if required
ipatropium bromide 250mg 1ml nebulsed

adranalinn 10mgc/kg IM
repeated at 5-10 minutes as required max 30mcg/kg

dexamethasoe 600mgc/kg Oral max 12 mg

if a paitnt is unconcious with asthma what is the managment?

A

small child 2-4 ventalate 12-15 ventlations per minute
medium child 10-14 ventialtions per minute
moderatly high resp pressures
allow for prolonged resp phase
gentle lateral chest pressure during expiration
