what does hyperkeratosis mean?
increased thickness of the keratin layer
what does parakeratosis mean?
persistence of nuclei in the keratin layer as a result of cells maturing too quickly
what does acanthosis mean?
increased thickness of epithelium
what does papillomatosis mean?
irregular epithelial thickening
what does spongiosis mean?
oedematous fluid between cells in the epidermis
