Ovarian Cancer Flashcards
what is it difficult to diagnosis
by the time it is detected 75% have metastasized already
and no suitable screening test
and advances silently
= most lethal female CA
ET/Risk factors
aging ovulatory age family hx (breast CA) autosomal dominant nulliparity dysmenorrhea infertility
why is age a risk factor
it increases your likelihood of expose to carcinogens
what is ovulatory age
the time that oocytes are exposed to sex hormones
Patho what are the diverse types
epithelial tissue is most prevalent
then germ cells
and stromal tumors
how does ovarian cancer advance
silent growth
seeds (bowels and liver)

when a pelvic mass is found what occurs
US
and exploratory surgery (laproscopy)
Treatment is determined how
