what are the levels of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia
CIN1: mild dysplasia
CIN2: moderate
CIN3: severe and carcinoma in situ
how does cervical cancer metastasize
via lymphatics
Diagnosis
Screening tool: PAP smear to see if squamous cells have changed in appearance *dysplasia
colposcopy if dysplasia is present
Manifestations
vaginal discharge bleeding metrorrhagia frequent menses late: pain
Treatment
early: excision of the cells undergoing dysplasia Invasive: radiation and surgery Cryosurgery Conization Laser: bring about necrosis Advanced: radical hysterectomy
