Control the infectious process

  1. Monitor the patient’s response to antibiotic therapy
  2. Observe the IV access site for evidence of phlebitis, infection, and infiltration
  3. If surgery is necessary, take measures to ensure adequate circulation

(wound suction to prevent fluid accumulation, elevation of the area to promote venous drainage, avoidance of pressure on grafted area)

  1. Change dressing using aseptic technique
  2. High protein and vitamin diet
