Long-term antibiotic therapy

General supportive measures
- Hydration
- High vitamin and protein diet
- Correction of anemia

Immobilization of affected area to decrease discomfort and to prevent pathologic fracture

Warm wet soaks for 20mins several times a day as per doctor’s order

Infected bone is surgically exposed, the purulent and necrotic material is removed, and the area is irritated with sterile saline solution

Sequestrectomy - removal of enough involucrum to enable the surgeon to remove the sequestrum
