Warm bones
Hearing loss
Heart failure

high ALP
normal calc and phos
Tx paget’s bone
Biphosphonates
Sx bony metastases
Hx of cancer
Raised calcium
Sx chondrosarcoma
Painful, growing mass in the axial skeleton
Tx chondrosarcoma
Excision
What is SUFE?
Epiphyseal fracture means femoral head moves out of position
At risk category for SUFE
Obese boys 10-16
Sx SUFE
Reduced abduction and flexion
Leg is externally rotated
Tx SUFE
Internally rotate
Sx Perthe’s disease
Hip pain and reduced movements
Tx Perthe’s disease
Bed rest, NSAIDs
