what is levels of hierarchy?
how many layers in the business orgasnisational structure e.g. managers and supervisors and staff
what does delayering mean?
getting rid of a layer in the heirachy in order to reduce costs. - its good as it gives more responsibility to people. bad because of high unemployment - bad reputation.
what is delegation?
amount of responsibility given to employee’s.
what is centralised organisation?
autocratic management = no responsibility given all decisions made between managers
what is decentralisation?
decisions are made with employee’s and communication reaches all member’s of staff.
what is organisation by product?
the business is organised by the product/ region.
what is organisation by system?
split into the business functions HR, OPERATIONS, FINANCE AND MARKETING.
matrix structure ?
this is were employee’s with similar skills are put into groups and then each group combine with decisions and responsibilities.
