what is quality?
Quality is concerned with the design and reliability of a product/service meeting the minimum standard required. the minimum standard usually being meeting customers needs.
what does “being fit for purpose” mean?
safe to use
reliable
durable (last a long time )
why is ensuring quality important?
legal restraints - their is a lot of legal requirements regarding the quality of product such a consumer protection act.
also customers are increasingly expecting higher quality.
what is quality control?
checking the quality once the product has been produced.
what is quality assurance?
business procedures that ensure consumer products are of the right quality - checking it at each stage of the production.
what is external quality control?
to do with stakeholders and competitors
what is bench marking?
comparing business with the market leader ( a competitor who is leading the market) and try to improve you’re quality based on what they do.
