what is job production?

A

production of a single product which usually tailor-made to the customers exact needs. bespoke products such as wedding dresses - however it doesn’t have to be the production of something small, as luxury hotels are also a form of job production.

what is Batch production?

A

a batch of products being made which go through set stages, and each stage must be completed. There can be some variation in the product as long as the variation requires the same stages. for example producing different flavours of bread.

A

this refers to producing a standardised product usually using a conveyor - belt method. it produces vast quantities of the same product, e.g. cars, and their are staff at each stage of the production carrying out specialist tasks.

A

cell production is when the production of a product is divided into small groups that each focus on one section / task at a time. there is also opportunities for job rotation once the task has been completed.
