What is the presentation of oral glucose gel?
A
37.5g tube containing 15g oral glucose

What is the contraindication
A
Impaired of absent swallow or gag reflex

What is the use for oral glucose
A
Treat hypoglycaemia with altered conscious state with BGL <4 and where patient is conscious and able to swallow

What is the dose of oral glucose?
A
1 x tube glucose orally
May be repeated once after 15 minutes if BGL is still <4 and LOC is still altered
Max dose is 30g glucose
