what are the 2 sections of the oral cavity ?
vestibule
oral cavity proper
When the teeth of both jaws are in contact the vestibule communicates with the oral cavity proper through a gap between the last molar tooth and the ramus of the mandible

what are the boundaries of th oral cavity
Anteriorly and laterally – alveolar arches of both jaws, teeth and gums.
Posteriorly – comunicates with the oropharynx, bounded above by the soft palate and below the dorsal surface of posterior 1/3 of tongue and on each side by the palatoglossal arch.
Roof – formed by palate
Floor – occupied by the tongue, rests on the floor of the mouth(contributed by mylohyoid muscle)
what supplies the oral cavity with blood ?
branches of maxillary and facial arteries
what supplies the oral cavity with nerves?
sensory : branches of the maxillary and mandibular nerve
motor : branch of facial nerve
