Q

describe the route the facial artery take from the carotid triangle in the neck onwards .

A

the facial artery originates from the external carotid artery . it enters the groove on the posterior surface of the submandibular gland , then curves upwards to the inferior region of the masseter, then passes forward and upwards across the cheek to the angle of the mouth , then continues up along the side of the nose and finally makes it to the commissure of the eye under the name “angular artery”
