Q

oculomotor nerve (3)

A

function: stimulates 4 out of 6 eye muscles, helps pupil to constrict
test: papillary reflex (light), follow up, down, side-to-side

Q

Classification of Nerves:

A
  • Sensory=Carry impulses to CNS
  • Motor=Carry impulses away from CNS
  • Mixed=Both sensory and motor, all spinal nerves
17
Q

Cranial Nerves

A
  • 12 pairs
  • Numbered in order, front to back
  • Three are sensory only, rest are mixed
