Nonischaemic Aquired Heart Disease Flashcards
Name the causes of mitral regurgitation.
Valve - valve prolapse, endocarditis, prosthetic leaks, balloon valvuloplasty, congenital defects, MPS, SLE, RA
Supporting structures - annulus dilation, CT rupture, IHD, HOCM, Mittal annular calcification, atrial myxoma
What are the radiology findings of mitral stenosis?
Pulmonary oedema, after time LV dilation. May have left atrial moderate enlargement.
What are the radiology features of rheumatic valve disease?
Left atrial enlargement , straightening of left heart border, large bulge below left bronchus. Double density through heart. Calcifications. May have LV enlargement
What are the radiology features of tricuspid stenosis?
Large eight atrium
What are the x-ray features of aortic stenosis?
Rounding of cardiac apes (LVH), possible calcification
Name causes of aortic regurgitation.
Degenerative, congenital, rheumatic, endocarditis, arctic dissection, takayashus, Marfan’s, ank spon, RA, ED syndrome, syphillis, trauma, balloon valvuloplasty
What are the x-ray findings of aortic regurgitation?
Chronic - LV enlargement
Acute - minor LV enlargement, with heart failure - upper lobe diversion
Name causes of cardiomyopathies.
Ischaemic, valvular, hypertensive, inflammatory, metabolic, general systemic, muscular dystrophy, sensitivity and toxic , peripartum
