MECHANISM OF ACTION

• Smooth muscle relaxant acting on vasculature, bronchial, uterine, intestinal smooth muscle
• Dilation of arterioles and veins in the periphery
• Reduces preload and after load, decreasing workload of the heart and thereby myocardial oxygen demand

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Hypotension
• Hypovolemia
• Intracranial bleeding or head injury
• Pericardial tamponade
• Severe bradycardia or tachycardia
• RV infarction
• Previous administration in the last 24 hours: Sildenafil (Viagra); or 48 hours: Taladafil (Cialis) and Vardenafil (Levitra)

DOSE AND ADMINISTRATION
* ADULT
0.4 mg SL may repeat in 5 minutes to a maximum of 3 doses.
IV infusion 10 mcg/m increase by 10 mcg/m every 3-5 minute until desire effect with a maximum dose of 200 mcm/m
