MECHANISM OF ACTION
Short-acting hypnotic that acts at he level of the reticular activating system within the brain (3-5 minutes apnea)

Hypersensitive, Labor and Delivery

ADVERSE EFFECTS
Hypoventilation, hyperventilation, dysrhythmias, hypotension, hypertension, NV, involuntary muscle movement, pain at the injection site

PRECAUTIONS
May be enhanced when given with other CNS depressants (Synergistic effect)

DOSE AND ADMINISTRATIONS ADULT 0.2 to 0.6 mg/kg IV over 30-60 seconds PEDI 0.2 to 0.4 mg/kg IV over 30-60 seconds
