DOSE & ADMINISTRATION OF NALOXONE

A

D & A
ADULT DOSE: 0.4 - 2 mg SIVP / IM/ IO/ SQ/ ET/ IN. Repeat at 5 minutes intervals to maximum total dose of 10 mg.
PEDI DOSE: 0.1 MG/ kg IV/ IO/ SQ every 2 minute as needed. Maximum total dose of 2 mg.

Opiate overdose, complete or partial reversal of central nervous system and respiratory depression induced by opioids, decreased level of consciousness, coma of unknown origin.

Competitive inhibition at narcotic reception sites. Reverse respiratory depression secondary to opiate drugs. Complete inhibits the effect of morphine.
