Effective in management and reversal of overdoses caused by narcotics or synthetic narcotic agents

Ampoules 0.4mg in 1mL (400mcg/1mL) or Pre-filled syringe

Indications
Inadequate respiration and/or ALoC following known or suspected narcotic overdose

Dosage
Adult:
- 4mg IV/IO/IM/SC. Repeat after 3min if indicated to Max 2mg.
- 8mg IN. Repeat x 1 after 3 mins prn
Paed:
0.01mg/Kg (10mcg/Kg) IV/IO/IM/SC.
0.02mg/kg (20mcg/kg) IN
Repeat dose prn to maintain opoid reversal to max 0.1mg/Kg or 2mg

Side Effects
Acute reversal of narcotic effect ranging from nausea & vomiting to agitation & seizures

Additional Info
Use with caution in pregnancy
Administer with caution to patients who have taken large dose of narcotics or are physically dependent.
Rapid reversal will precipitate acute withdrawal syndrome.
Prepare to deal with aggressive patients
