define muscle tension

adult successfully lifted the ball over their head; weight lifting

a 3 year old tries to lift the ball but cant; when can’t move anymore weights; myofilaments try to slide but cant
what is the purpose of muscle tone
so body is in contant readiness for movement
what is the purpose of aerobic/endurance training
get more red fibers, greater blood supply to muscles= more O2 and # of mitochondria, increased metabolism, improved digestion and skeletal strength
what is the purpose of resistance training
get more white fibers, isometric exercise that increase muscle size (increases diameter of individual muscle cells)
what are tendons
attaches muscle to bone
what are aponeuroses
broad, flat, tendinous attachment
what is the origin
more axial or fixed point of attachment
what is the insertion
more appendicular or moveable point of attachment
what is the relationship between origin and insertion
muscle action pulls insertion toward the origin
