Q

Details of Maslow motivation theory

A

Maslow’s theory classifies human needs and how they are related to each other (hierarchy)
Starting from the bottom these categories motivate us as human beings
Each level must be satisfied before you can progress to the next level
Once these needs have been satisfied they are no longer A motivator
If management can identify which level each employee has reached they can decide on suitable rewards

A

American Psychologist who promoted the theory of motivator
States the people are motivated by two factors hygiene and motivational
hygiene factors do not motivate but if not present them they are said to demotivate.
Motivational factors will increase motivation and not lower motivation.
It is the managers responsibility to ensure that positive feedback is given and that hygiene factors are in place to prevent demotivation.
