adverts can be emailed
Advantages of internal recruitment
boost morale
post is filled quickly
applicant is already known
reduces cost of recruitment and selection
reduces the need of induction training
employee already knows the culture of the organisation
Disadvantages of internal recruitment
limited amount of applicants
no suitable applicants
creates another vacancy
can create resentment between staff
external candidates might be better
What is external recruitment
seeking applicants from inside and outside the organisation
Advantages of external recruitment
wider variety of applicants to choose from
new employees are introduced to the business
new employees have experience of how other businesses work
benefit from training given by another business
Disadvantages of external recruitment
recruitment and selection process will take longer
internal candidate will feel undervalued
induction training will have to be given
candidates are unknown so the wrong person may be chosen
can upset team if a new member is added causing resentment
