Skin testing

A
Type I (allergy)
-injection of allergen will cause raised bump 5-7mm within 15min
Type III (arthus reaction)
-Injection of specific Ag results in large (greater than 50mm) bump within 5-10hrs

Type IV (mantoux test)

  • Injection of M. tuberculosis.
  • pos result is bump greater than 10mm at 48-72hrs

measures level of IgE Ab in the patient sample
