Pt serum with Ab + Known Reagent Ag + Complement = (binding of complement to pt Ab) + sheep RBC with Ab attached = no hemolysis

Pt serum w/o Ab + Known reagent Ag + complement = no binding of complement (still available to bind to sensitized sheep rbc) + Sheep RBC = lysis
