1. Late status quo - feels familiar, business as usual
2. The foreign element - something happens to shift status quo
3. Chaos - unfamiliar territory, peformance drops
4. Trh transforming idea - idea arrives that helps make sense of the situation
5. Practice and integration - performance improves to levels that are better than late status quo
6. New status quo - higher performance stabilizes

What are the main points of William Bridges Transition Model?

A

Provides an understanding of what occurs to individuals psychologically when an organizational change takes place and their transition through it.

  1. Ending, losing, and letting go - change introduced - fear, denial, anger, resistance.
  2. The nuetral zone - change is happening - frustration, resentment, anxiety, drop in productivity or people become creative, innovative, passionate.
  3. The new beginning - change is accepted - open to learning and energized by the change.
