Deposits in mesangium and glomerular basement membrane thickening, and glomerular damage
What causes membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis?
3 types- most common= immune complex deposition
What causes post strep glomerulonephritis?
Immune complex deposition in glomeruli
Who gets post strep glomerulonephritis?
Young kids classically
What is the presentation of post strep glomerulonephritis?
7-14 days post strep infection, usually strep pyogens URTI
Headache, malaise
Microscopic haematuria, large volume proteinuria
Low component
What is the management of post-strep glomerulonephritis?
Antibiotics if infection still present
Loop diuretics
Vasodilators
