-In-depth feelings and meanings can be captured
-More personal can gain insight into people’s lives
What are the disadvantages of quantitative data?
-No focus on the individual
-Respondents can’t always explain what they mean
-Closed questions
What are the disadvantages of qualitative data?
-Researcher can become too involved/biased
-Unreliable, unique experiences cant be repeated
-Time consuming
-Often unrepresentative- cant generalise
