What is continuous training? P
Exercising at a moderate intensity for at least 20 minutes
P= cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance. Lower resting heart rate ad decreased recovery time.
Interval Training.
Periods of high intensity exercises followed by periods of rest
P = weight loss = burning calories
cardiovascular fitness - altering the lengths of the rest periods.
Weight training.
The use of weights/resistance in training.
Muscular endurance = light weight but high reps
Muscular strength = heavy weight but low reps.
power and strength
Circuit training
A number of exercises per formed for a short time on after the other.

Used to develop all COF
Plyometrics
Exercises where muscles use maximum force in short intervals of time. Often include jumping and bounding.
Power - quick lengthening and shortening of muscles.
Fast explosive movements
Fartlek
Training over different terrains and speeds
cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and reduces chances of CCHD.
Fitness classes
Yoga pilates aerobics spinning and body pump - improves specific components of fitness.
Cross training
A combination of 2 or more different methods of training.
