Stress relief - taking mind of problems, causing an increase in seretonin which creates the feel good factor, having fun when playing
Competition - feeling good if winning or meeting a challenge.
reduced boredom - having something to do
aesthetic appreciation (recognising the beauty or skill of a movement) - watching skillful performances
Benefits of increased self - confidence and self esteem
You feel part of something - becoming a member of a team
you are performing better - practising more
you think you look better - losing weight (exercise)
Negative effects of emotional health
Training could lead to injury and if a performer cannot train this itself will cause depression
Using an example, explain how self -esteem can be increased through physical activity
When you do a sport, you will enter more competitions with more challenges to face and if successful this would make you feel better about yourself and improve self-esteem.
