h8What is the Mental Health Act?
The MHA process is where a person must receive compulsory treatment if they are mentally disordered. This can only apply to those 18 years and over. Considered if a person poses harm to self or others.
What is the HEEADSSS assessment?
The tool used to organise assessment of child wellbeing.

Eating/ Exercise
Activity (Hobbies)
Drugs (alcohol, risk-seeking activities)
Sexuality (Relationships with others’ view of self)

What is chronic mental illness?
Persistent mental or emotional disorder that causes impairment of individual functionality.
What is the nurse’s role in helping Pt with chronic mental illness?
Having strategies in place to support emotional/ behavioural manifestations
Reassurance.

Adult: Schizophrenia, Mood disorders, Dementia
Children: Schizophrenia, ID,
What are the psychological manifestations of chronic mental illness?
Loneliness, loss of hope, Suicidal idealisations, Depression
