What is CPR?
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a manual way to supply the body with O2 and pump blood around the body.
When should CPR be used?
Not Breathing Normally
Not breathing at all
Unconscious
What is the DRS ABCD?
Danger
Response
Send help
Airway
Breathing
CPR
Defib
Main points of adult CPR:
30 chest compression (midline of nipples, lock elbows and arm)
2 breaths (seal mouth, chin lift)
CPR points for Child:
15 in the hospital (one hand 1/3 depth)
2 breaths (mouth seal, chin lift, Cgrip arm)
CPR points for baby:
15 Chest compression (two fingers)
2 breaths until chest rise (ambu bag)
Choking Adult/ Child:
5 back blows (between shoulder blades, checking each time.
5 chest thrust with a closed fist
Choking baby:
5 back blows with the baby on the forearm
5 chest thrust with 2 fingers.
What is DNR?
No Not Resuscitate, an order made by a competent person. It is an advanced directive for the future.
What are the two shockable heart rythems?
Ventricular Fibrillation
Ventricular Tachycardia
What is an AED?
Automatic External/ Electric Defibrillator
Restores normal Hearth rhythm by shocking the heart.
What do when shock is administered?
Continue with CPR
AED indicates no shock is advised what is the action after?
Open the airway and check for breathing
