What is the short term sensory store?
A
- Receives ALL info from display
- Selective attention occurs
- Hold info for brief amount of time before it is sent to STM

A
- Referred to as the working memory system
- DCR process occurs
- Limited capacity , only 6-9 items
- Only holds items for 30 seconds

A
- Stores past experiences as motor programmes
- Used for comparison in STM
- Unlimited capacity

How can coaches/players ensure effective storage?
A
- Fun experiences : makes a performer more likely to remember the info
- Chunking : breaking the skilled action into parts or sub routines
- Practice/rehearsal : grooving a skill helps to create motor programmes
