Who is eligible to participate in the MCA?
All students attending public, private, or charter schools, or homeschooled for grades 9-12 and 6-8 within the MCA’s region.

They remain eligible as long as they are enrolled as middle or high school students.
What must a transgender student-athlete do to compete in a category consistent with their gender identity?
Notify the MCA Director and register as they identify.
What documentation may the MCA request to confirm a student-athlete’s gender identity?
School records, documentation from parents, guardians, or medical professionals.
What are the registration requirements for student-athletes?
Signed Agreement to Participate/Release of Liability, Signed Medical Form, Registration Fee, Signed Code of Conduct Form.
Who must sign the Code of Conduct form?
The student-athlete and their guardian if the student is a minor.
What can happen to student-athletes competing without payment or registration?
They can face penalties, including disqualification.
What must coaches do to be covered by MCA insurance?
Register with the MCA and obtain a minimum of a Level 1 license.
What are the requirements for adults participating in team rides?
At least 18 years old, signed participation agreement, release of liability, code of conduct, coach’s license, and passed background check.
