3. The ship must have a document of compliance detailing what goods can be carried and where.
4. Extra safety equipment is carried onboard e.g BA suits/chemical suits/fire extinguishers

Reception facilities should be provided for all vessels leaving for/arriving from Antarctica

What is EEDI/EEXI?

A

Energy Efficiency Design Index for new ships of 400Gt or more

Energy Efficiency Existing Ships Index for ships of 400Gt of more

Ships required to calculate their EEDI/EEXI and are issued with a International Energy Efficiency Certificate valid for vessel lifetime and required energy efficiency improvement.

What is Cii?

A

Carbon Intensity Index. Required for all ships over 5,000 Gt.
Using reported fuel consumption figures over the past year, a ship is given a fuel efficiency grading between A-E and issued a Statement of Compliance when fuel figures are checked by the administration. Reviewed annually.

What is SEEMP?

A

Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan.
Required to achieve the International energy efficiency certificate.

Mechanism for operators to improve the energy efficiency of ships. Required carbon intensity index given for proceeding 3 years and includes an implementation plan for how this is achieved.
