- transparent + understood
- evolves
- order + size per item - sometimes not immediate
- PO orders item
- less understood items are lower down - need refinement
- refinement - ongoing
- PBI is ready if team is confident that a PBI can be turned into ready to done in one sprint
- Devs decide on sizing
- Sizing influences PO’s ordering
- Many techniques for sizing - select based on team
- single source of work to achieve product goal
- can have other things at the bottom of the PB but the focus should be on the product goal
-if you are never going to do some work, don’t put it in the PB - not a repo
-PBIs - independent, purposeful and needed to meet the product goal
