Loose Parts Monitoring Flashcards
State the purpose of performing loose parts vibration monitoring.
First purpose is to detect loose metallic parts in the primary system
Second purpose of the Loose Parts detection system is to minimize radiation exposure to personnel by providing early detection and general location of abnormal structural conditions, minimizing the formation of wear-generated radioactive crud and minimizing the need for extensive structural repairs.
The SV system has two control panels/cabinets which are located…
…on the 140’ level of the Control Bldg.
The Loose Parts Monitoring System (SV) system is powered from…
…distribution panel NNND11.
The Loose Parts Vibration Monitoring System (SV) has __(1)__ required sensors and they are located in __(2)__.

The PVLP system has ____ Modes of Operation. The Modes of Operation are…
3 Modes of Operation.
Supervisory, Monitoring and Analysis Modes.
The Loose-Parts Detection System is only OPERABLE (ref. TLCO 3.3.106) when the PVLP Computer is in the __(1)__ since __(2)__
(1) Supervisory Mode
(2) the Control Room alarm capability is disabled in the Monitoring mode.
What actions must be taken when Window 7C14B - LOOSE PARTS VIB MON SYS TRBL annunciates in the control room and why?
Window 7C14B - LOOSE PARTS VIB MON SYS TRBL will be automatically reset by the Palo Verde Loose parts Computer even with a valid alarm locked in at the computer. All loose parts alarms should be immediately investigated even though the Control Room alarm clears a short time after it comes in.
If BOTH displacement channels for the associated RCP go above __(1)__ and Engineering has not previously evaluated and approved continued operation at this level, then __(2)__.
(1) 10 mils
(2) an immediate reactor trip should be performed followed by tripping the affected RCP.
