What is the point of the articular cartridge and where is it found?
Allow movement of joint found at either end of the bone
What is cancellous bones function, structure, and location?
Found at end of bone, has lots of holes (spongy), blood cell creation
What is the hollow part of a long bone called?
Medullary cavity
What is the inner layer of long bone called and it’s function?
Compact bone holds shape and structure
What is the 2nd layer of a long bone and its function?
Periosteum is a sheath of connective tissue and fibers
What is the outside of the long bone called?
Cortex

Epiphyseal part in the cancellous bone
What is the growth plate in a long bone?
Epiphyseal plate
