- Miracles have an apologetic purpose: To Authenticate Jesus’ authority.
- To have an Evangelistic purpose: To awaken saving faith; to change lives.
- To show the mercy and compassion of Jesus: Jesus is a reflection of His Father.
- A Prophetic purpose: To declare the ultimate triumph of God’s kingdom over the forces of evil.
- Miracles have a pedagogical (Instruction) purpose: Miracles were a way to teach lessons. Symbolize redemtive truth, vehicles of instructions.
Some Key Places During Christ’s Ministry
- Bethany: It was the place where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.
- The Jordan River: He was baptized by John the Baptist and received the Holy Spirit
- The Sea of Galilee: Where Jesus walked on Water.
- Gethsemane: where He last prayed before His crucifixion.
- Capernaum where Jesus healed the man who was let down through the roof.
- Jericho: Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan
- Jerusalem: When he was at the age of 12 he left both of His parents to visit the temple.
- Nazareth: Where Joseph fled with Mary and Jesus to escape Herold’s rule.
- Cana: Where Jesus performed His first miracle and turned water to wine
- Caesarea Philippi: This is where the disciples got the revelation that Jesus is the Messiah.
- Bethsaida: Where Jesus fed 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes.
Bethlehem in Hebrew means ‘House of Bread’ noted for its fruitfulness.
