When just Jesus Coronated?
Revelation 3:21 intimates that soon after Christ ascended to heaven he was coronated as king/priest to begin his ministry in the heavenly sanctuary.
How was Jesus coronated?
The coronation of Christ seems to follow the Old Testament ritual of crowning the kings of Israel.
- The coronation – which was performed in the temple
- The enthronement which was performed in the royal palace
The two aspects of the Old Testament coronation service are merged into one. This is so because the heavenly throne room and sanctuary are one and the same.
Why was Jesus’s Sacrifice necessary?
In like manner Christ’s blood qualified him to minister as priest in the heavenly sanctuary
What does Taking the Scroll mean?
The taking of the scroll (the book of the testament) by the Lamb parallels the investment of the Old Testament king with the crown and the book of the testimony.
What was attested to on earth by the outpouring at Pentecost.
The anointing and coronation of the priest/king of heaven
What does the sealed scroll represent?
The sealed scroll [book] symbolizes God’s promise to give the kingdom to his people.
In being handed to Christ, who through his sacrificial death and resurrection has brought the promise regarding the kingdom to its fulfillment.
The reception of the scroll by Christ also signifies the rightful transfer of world dominion to him that was forfeited by sin.
What is revealed when the ‘book’ or scroll is opened?
This transfer of the ‘eternal inheritance,’ the lost dominion regained. This transfer took place in a judgment setting.
