Difference between 日頃 and 毎日
毎日 used when talking about past and future actions
When I lived in Japan, I used Japanese every day.

Difference between 直 and 正直（しょう・じき）
正直 means you say what you think is true regardless of how the other person feels. 直 means they hide their feelings. When used on yourself, it means you are being honest with yourself.
Not being able to be honest about my feelings, I broke up with my boyfriend.
私は素直になれなくて、彼と別れました。
