What does asset management include?
Everything – all hardware, software, humans, and data involved in the information system’s input, storage, and output
What does tangible mean?
Able to physically touch it
What is intangible?
Can’t touch it, like software, data, intellectual property

For asset tags (to label assets within an organization instead of using product serial number), what type of sticker should you use? (2 options)
Don’t use regular stickers, buy tags specifically meant to be permanent (strong polyester stickers) or anodized aluminum labels
Some asset tags can use RFID, what does this mean?
Radio Frequency Identification (keeps track of inventory)
It has a microchip and an antenna
What are the 2 types of RFID tags?
A, P
Active - uses a battery or external power source to send out/receive signals
Passive - receives the power it needs from an RFID scanner’s signal
What is the procurement life cycle? What happens at the end of it?
Software/Hardware asset’s expected end of life at which point you document the procedure to replace, retire, depreciate the asset
What documentation is necessary for warranty and licensing? (2)
-Documents pertaining to warranty or licensing (original purchase, invoice, install records)
-Software should include licensing details and usage limitations, seat allocations
