Q

What did Butterworth et al. identify as the ideal criteria for how performance profiling is implemented?

Q

What are the dimensions of the personal construct theory?

A

Individuality corollary: people will have different perceptions about the same thing (athlete)
Sociality corollary: awareness that other people will have differing opinions (perspective of SPC)
Self-Awareness corollary: increased reflection and self-awareness
Experience corollary: interpretation is revised over time

Q

What are the stages of performance profile implementation and what occurs at each stage?

A
  1. Introduction: explain usefulness and give some examples of when PP has worked
  2. Eliciting Constructs: identify qualities of an elite sports person/ rank in important/ usually create about 20/ can get ex-sports people or give hints in order to create constructs/ explanation of what constructs are should always be written up
  3. Application: a) Ideal, importance, current (mark out of 10)
    b) Discrepancy score: (Current - Ideal) * Importance
  4. Visual Display
  5. Establish Targets
  6. Action Plan: what and how you will achieve targets
