What is meant by the term vestibule?
Refers to the space between the teeth and the lips/cheeks
Where is the gingiva located?
Where the oral mucosa blends in with the surrounding . teeth
Where do the incisive papillae lead to?
Incisive papillae lead to the incisive duct which then leads to the vomeronasal organ
What is the function of the palatoglossal arch?
Divides the Oro-pharnx and the oro-cavity
What are the function of the rugae?
They point towards the back of the oral cavity, moving the food towards the back
What species have a dental pad?
Mainly ruminants
Where is the sublingual caruncle located?
Located at the base of the frenulum
What species have a fibrous lyssa?
Dogs
What species normally have a lingual torus?
Herbivors
What is the appearance of lingual papillae?
Various different shaped mounds, located on the surface of the tongue
Where are taste buds located within the mouth?
On the papillae
Where does the mandibular gland drain to?
The sublingual caruncle
