Corfu crisis -
Mussolini invaded corfu the lon condemned Mussolini but he undermined them
This was bad as it showed the league could not enforce justice
What was the Locarno Treaty (1925)?
France and Germany agreed to work together peacefully
Germany accepted terms of the treaty
Explain what the Kellogg-Briand Pact (1928) was.
65 countries including Germany and USA agreed war would not be used to solve disputes between them

What was the Mukden incident?
An explosion occurred on the Japanese-owned South Manchurian Railway.
Japan blamed China but the Chinese denied that they were involved.

What was the Lytton report?
The league sent a British politician (lord Lytton) to investigate he took nearly a year to write his report by which time Japan had invaded Manchuria it concluded that Japan was in the wrong
Explain three consequences of the LoN’s failure after the Manchurian crisis
One of the leagues own members ignored moral condemnation
Without an army of its own the league was powerless
Abyssinian crisis
The LoN lost credibility and ultimately lead to WW2
