The Ridolfi plot. The plan was to get the Netherlands to invade at the same time as Norfolk and kill the queen. She had strong spies and cracked the code

1586 it was the plan to kill queen Elizabeth and Mary take the throne and turn England catholic. It lead to Mary’s execution.
