OCT 1935 - Italian troops invade Abyssinia
- League was about to sanction Italy, BUT INSTEAD British and french foreign ministers came up with HOARE-LAVAL PACT
- granted Italy with large parts of Abyssinia and no war
- leaked to public and they resigned
- war took placed and ENDED MAY 1936 - became part of Italian empire
