TWO FACTOR THEORY
Satisfiers (Motivators) such as: recognition, status, growth.
Dissatisfiers (Hygiene Factors) such as: Salary, work conditions, policies and rules.
What is McClelland’s theory?
Each person possesses one of three driving motivators:
ACHIEVEMENT, AFFILIATION OR POWER.
These are developed through life’s experiences.
How would you deal with an underperforming team member:
- Invite them to a meeting in a calm, private place.
- Discuss the issues and try to understand any influencing factors.
- Review their scope of services and make clear what is expected of them.
- Set up a follow on meeting.
- If issues persist. Raise with senior colleague and consider replacing them.

What is the Equality Act 2010?
Protects people from discrimination, victimization and harassment.
What is the Employment rights act 1996?
Gives employees rights under dismissal, unfair dismissal, redundancy and parental leave.
How would you assess who is a good team member or consultant to appoint?
Through a review of key performance indicators such as past performance, sustainability, health and safety, reliability.
Examples where I have led team members:
Where english is not their first language
Where their level of experience requires more time to go over tasks
Understanding personal needs
Being non-cognate
