John Chapter 03 Flashcards
3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 respondit Iesus et dixit ei amen amen dico tibi nisi quis natus fuerit denuo non potest videre regnum Dei
In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. “ (John 3:3)
“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” (John 3:4)
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. (John 3:5)
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 non mireris quia dixi tibi oportet vos nasci denuo
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:7)
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:8)
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? (John 3:9)
“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? (John 3:10)
I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. (John 3:11)
I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? (John 3:12)
13 et nemo ascendit in caelum nisi qui descendit de caelo Filius hominis qui est in caelo
No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven - the Son of Man. (John 3:13)
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, (John 3:14)
that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. (John 3:15)
